Good to have stuff around to barter with. Very true And as long as both parties walk away happy with the deal, that's all that matters at the end of the day. Thats the true meaning of a good barter

Bartering requires the right frame of mind by both parties. Seems most folks these days aren't interested in doing it. The best barter is when both parties brag to each of their respective friends how they skinned the other guy on a trade. With people I know and trust, it goes more like this. Say my buddy needs something that I have and asks me what I want for it. I'll just let him have it and tell him we'll work it out later.

The better question might be what does everyone have to barter?
Keith I bought a Sawmill, planer and 100 acres of timber. I barter lumber for labor.

As a barter I am accepting of conditions more than value, values are rarely equal. It is what each party subjectively determines THEIR object of value is. Your opinion may be different. A contract / "barter" by Law is a "meeting of the minds" in agreement. Yep, good analogy. I barter and I get what I want and they get what they want. Value is never the same but to each other it is.

I've known of a couple of marriages that worked out like that !

No tax implications in trading land for land. The value of each piece of land can be different in price value but trading land is done often in my area. A legal and no tax required from land trade. I would have to look what the form is called though.

I barter some
often for my labor
my neighbor was selling their old minivan , my daughter needed a car , the neighbors had bought a new minivan
so we came up with a cash and barter , I would fluid film the new minivan and that was worth good money to them
it cost me 50 in fluid , I already had the tools and an afternoon. but that would cost them 400 or more to have done at a shop
when both parties walk away happy then it is a good barter.
different people feel different about it
was working on something and helping them sell a bunch dead husbands tools , they said commission , I said if I have to sell all the tools for X then you pay me 10%X so I can go buy stuff , you have tools I want that are worth my time , how about we trade those for the work on the rest. otherwise it is like me working 10% more to get paid that 10%
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

If both parties are happy with the trade, equality shouldn't be an issue, IMO. An example: I GAVE my neighbor my old 1983 Dodge 1 Ton truck truck with a Boss plow on it on the condition that he plow my driveway whenever it snows and I can use the truck if I need it to haul something. He must maintain the truck and the insurance on it. He transferred the title in his name so I'm not responsible for it. He's happy and I'm happy.
Wife: That's the 4th time you've gone back for dessert, doesn't that embarrass you? Me: No, I keep telling them it's for you.
