Back when MTV and VH1 first started , it was great. Non-stop videos 24 hours a day.

Then they changed the format to shows and beach parties. Not what people wanted. They wanted videos.

Yep, wasn't for me.

That was about the only place to see the videos then, it was nice.

I forgot about the "Members Only" jacket! Hopefully he can find his "Friendship Beads" he wore on a safety pin on his shoe too.

The first videos I remember seeing on MTV were Devo's "Whip it" and some video, maybe also Devo, where the band was chasing each other on a slide. I watched it at my house with my friend Tom Lorenze back in probably 1981, around the beginning of 6th grade. We thought they were crazy wearing the flower pots and going down a slide. MTV was great back when they mostly only showed videos. I loved watching the "Head Bangers Ball" when it came out.
