Yeah I forgot mink comes in Saturday. I feel like everything came in later this year. May still throw a set in and check on Sunday for kicks

I made nine sets today. Not quite what I wanted to get out but I think they are quality and good location! Five coilspring (dirt hole and flat sets) and four DP’s. I’m excited for tomorrow but I loved the peace and quiet and fresh air.
Here’s a couple of pictures [Linked Image]
[Linked Image]

I used some DP with Cherry nut coon grabbers and some with mini marshmallows, added a lure such as dunlaps Blackjack or milligans tutti fruity to draw them in. The flat sets I used coyote riot or Jameson’s Jackpot. And the dirt holes I used Predator Rage bait or Blackies Fur king. I love the smell of Fur King so much.
See you all tomorrow!!

That is fantastic! I bet you will have a sleepless night. Good luck tomorrow.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Don't set your sights too high for tomorrows check. I am FAR from an expert canine trapper but it seems like I have had my best luck after they "soak" for a couple of days.

Good for you Ashley, hoping you see a bouncing red soon. Or maybe a tenacious little grey!

You'll get grey when you get a little older grin

Just being out in the woods is enough to make it all worth wile in most cases. Collecting fur is just the icing on the cake.

Opposum for sure!! laugh You have to learn how to weld to catch coyotes on your highly modified equipment. Ha, just kidding, hope you catch something canine-ish. If you don't, stay away from the set and just let it soak.

Multi weather fronts stacking and aiming your way.

Careful the early-bird sets.
Mr green jeans has to work 3 Sundays in a row
and might be cranky.

You can prep the sets early though.

Nothing today for me! It’s really warm today but we are supposed to get a light snowfall tonight. Perhaps that’ll get em moving.

Nuffin again today fellas. I made a few more sets and also a couple on another line. Been up since 5 and starting to feel it. Supposed to have lunch with mom today. Perhaps a power nap is in order. Here are some pics of other sets

Yeah I am trying to. Known trails. I do have a grey fox I always see on one game cam and I made two sets in that area. I don’t see a whole lot of poop…..besides deer poop.

It appears you are doing some woods trapping. Be careful of how you secure your traps in that woodsy loam soil. That soil isn't well suited for staking for larger predators. Cable extensions fastened to stout near by trees or green logs are best or good drags of sorts.

You need to set the corridors and travel ways etc. for predators.

Bob i had a heck of a time driving my stakes in. In fact that was the hardest part of my day. I know what you mean about spongy soil, I faced that in the mountains and I couldn’t hardly bed a trap. I have two grapples but they’re not really big ones. Once cables were set I really gave them a good testing…
I’m really considering grapples in the future
