Just pulled out of the marinade and it already smells quite good.
Hopefully it’ll be a good batch!!

I don’t know any other way than to make it in the oven and it’s always been a hit with friends n family.
What’s funny, is I don’t like my own jerky very much.

It’s kinda like the best beer is always someone else’s!

Do you buy a jerky marinade or do you have a recipe?

Making jerky you need to get that fat off.Alright if you keep it in the fridge after. When I make mine you can leave it on the counter for a week and it will still be fine.

… I used to run with a crazy redneck out of kennard Tx…. He’d marinade up a pile of it and just slop it directly on the oven racks… then get on his wife’s butt for not keeping a clean oven lol

…. It got the job done… don’t remember how it tasted much as my tongue was numb from no filter cigarettes , Copenhagen, cheap beer and homemade whiskey in those times lol

Bob I have a recipe and I don’t know where I found it but it’s really easy and this year I added liquid smoke and I think it’ll make a big difference. 1 cup water, 1/2 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup Lea and perrins, tablespoon kosher salt. 3 tablespoons brown sugar, tablespoon black pepper, 2 teaspoons garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon sodium nitrate. (And of course the liquid smoke) I don’t measure very well. I always add more. Marinate for at least 24 hours then Pat dry and low oven like two hundred for 2 1/2 hours

Looks good, except for that white stuff left on there. sick
I've always done mine in the oven, it's done in 2 hours and the house smells great
I've done steaks for supper that way.
I use a lot of brown sugar and honey in my recipe

Thank you I’ll take it off after it dries. I usually do refrigerate it.

I always liked the liquid smoke when I didn’t have time to smoke my beans, I will say some liquid smoke is better than others.

Try some homemade maple syrup in your next batch of jerky ….. it adds a nice sweet flavor to pair with the liquid smoke …
