Annnd I thought my 1-4 and 2-7 scopes were just scopes, lol. Seriously ,,,a pistol scope is small field of view ,and the higher the power ,the harder to keep steady. I've always done well with 2x Burris or Leupold .
Otters everywhere ya look

pistol optics are about 8-22 inches off of LPVO as LPVO have a 2.5-3.5 inch eye relief
on pistols , I say a Dot if your hunting
pick your favorite dot , but magnification mostly shows you how much your shaking
if your going magnified Burris fixed 2x 10-24 inches of eye relief and you just don't need a bunch of magnification
the more magnification , the closer and smaller the eye relief on some it is 10-12 inches at high magnification so if your shooting off a bag for paper targets , not to bad , but trying to shoot off hand is basically a no.

Hmm Interesting! An here I always thought pistol scope had wide fields of view, that's why I thought they used them on scout rifles. Interesting nope think of a scout scope as you can see all around the scope and what you see through the scope is a 5-18 foot area magnified I think LPVO made scout scopes a thing of the past , because you can go from seeing the area both eyes open to 6 or 8 power with the flip of the lever allowing you to do near and moderately far with ease , speed and a wider field of view think about it like this take a paper towel roll and hold it up at arms reach and look at something in the distance through the hole move it back towards your eye and watch the field of view grow LPVO are also often 30 or 34mm tubes to make the FOV even larger but the eye relief of an LPVO is around 3 inches

Wish I could take lessons from you guys. are you sure it isn't a MPVO medium power variable optic 2-10 or are you up in the 6-18 or 5-25 range

Had to go look its 3-12. EER is either a learning curve or for sale. Buying online SUCKS in this regard. To be fair I need more time behind it.

Dot sight……or a real scope Depending on the distance you want to shoot.
Pistol is not a contender…..

There's a pastor out of , either, Wyoming or Montana ; name's Ernie. He shoots very specialized pistols , more like rifles without butt stocks. Not my cup of tea , but he did write some great articles about putting rifle scopes on long range pistols. I believe he has a custom optics guy that knows how to tweak the eye relief on them.
