Worth it making cutting boards , Purple scotch bright pads and WD 40 on the table will make it look brand new, just make sure the blade lock bar bolts are good and not broke off. old machines are the best.

half way across the country and I can go use my dads about 80 miles away , ill pass

I have some storm widows to rebuild I saved the 100 year old glass but the frame rotted at the bottom

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Most of my equipment is of the same vintage made/sold by Sears, they work good for my use. I built the kitchen cabinets with them. But check the motor case to ground with a voltage meter to make sure there is no leak that can kill. One of mine (long time ago) had a 50 volt leak. Other wide if it fits your use it is worth a lot to you. Yes a jointer for squaring up your work......jk

Six-inch jointers and especially those old craftsman jointers, are a dime a dozen. I have a customer who has been trying to give me her father‘s six-inch craftsman jointer for years. Every time I go there to do some work she asks me if I’ll take it.

As you go up in bed width the price really starts jumping. I have a twelve-inch jointer in my shop. If you were to buy a new twelve-inch today you could expect to pay between $6000 and $8000.

New six-inch jointers you could expect to pay between $1500-$2500 depending on the brand. That’s for a stand-alone model not a benchtop model.

Eh...wot?

Like anything else, if you need one, you pay for it. If you don’t need one, you don’t care. lol
