Thanks guys for the info, I’m goin out today to set one more but there is a deer carcass they where checking out so I have trap set 25 feet back. There is a front coming so I’m getting every type of set out I can. How would you trap in super wet freezing conditions? I have wax dirt

I'd likely hold my waxed dirt until it was really needed unless 1) you are planning on staying set on that location for a very extended period or 2) you have a large supply of dirt and there's little chance of running out later in season. Of course the weather is fickle enough that we may go from dry and warm to wet and frozen hard but normally that weather is a ways off. I'd set basically as normal given the forecast I'm seeing here for the next 10 days. Your forecast could be different but I dont see anything in the cold range that would have me concerned. Try to pick higher locations and sets that wont be as likely to hold standing water, etc but sets can take an amazing amount of water and still function.

Trench sets and step-down dirt hole sets are good. The step down is the most natural imo

If your on location and using the right stuff, even the weather won't keep'm out of your traps. Compliments of yes sir!

We will have a lot of freezing days and nights here later this year. Now not so now much but definitely later on. Just use good dry dirt now for bedding and blending in. As it does start to freeze and I mean when ground freezes hard then the waxed dirt will really shine. Save it for later when you will need it.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

You are far too young to be into the "Giggle Juice" already.

I appreciate the input NTO but you have only caught one coyote so how can you say those two sets work?
