12 teams to be selected, the first 4 will be conference champions, the next 4 will have a home playoff game. At least that is my understanding. It almost seems to me that the 4 teams with a home playoff game have a slight advantage over the conference champions. Lets say that the first round seed 5 beats seed #12 and seed # 6 beats seed # 11, seed #7 beats seed # 10 and seed #8 beats seed #9. So round 2 has seed 1 playing seed # 8, seed #2 playing seed #7, seed #3 playing seed #6 and seed # 4 playing seed #5. Currently that could mean Oregon playing Tennessee Texas playing Indiana BYU playing Penn State Miami playing Ohio State
Probably not a very likely scenario but I can see it being very possible that the 5th and 6th seeds might have an easier game than the first and second seeds in round two.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

My point is I think it is highly possible that teams with higher seeds will have a harder game in round two than the than some of the lower seeded teams.

Got tired of SEC teams playing for championships so now you get to watch your mediocre yankee teams, doubt it last many years cause they need 10 million viewer's not 100,000 watching their crap games. College ball is so messed up now i doubt it ever goes anywhere except straight down the drain as time goes by.

That is the "if", the teams are not seeded correctly under the format they are using. If they used the top seeded teams for the 4 teams that get a bye, at this writing it would be Oregon, Ohio State, Texas and Penn State. It may not end that way, I'm just saying how it is now. The ACC Champion and the Big 12 Champion are among the top 4 seeded teams. There are a number of teams from the SEC and the Big 10 that are better than those two champions to be.

Maybe the SEC just isn't as good as you think .......messed up? By having more teams in the playoff instead of a committee picking 4? Maybe the SEC should just declare the conference winner the National Champion every year......that'll show em ..lolololol

OH wow Mi won ONE championship, lol. How they doing this year? Put Penn state, BYU, Oregon or any of them in the sec and let them run that schedule and tell me how many wins they have at this point in the season not to mention how many top players they have out for the year due to injury. But as I said, now you can have your highschool teams winning championships again cause all the actual top teams have already beat each other to death during the regular season.

If they were a top team they would not lose any games, so that statement is a bunch of crap, I guess you must consider Kentucky and Vanderbilt top teams since they beat Ole Miss and Alabama, lol

Let's see, Oregon beat number 2 Ohio State, they beat number 12 Boise St. and they beat number 24 Illinois.

Bama would gut stomp overrated Oregon today, and anyone in the Big 10 as well...So would Georgia and probably a couple of other SEC teams.
Bring all them fake conference teams to the SEC for one season & send ambulances & plenty of stretchers....Posers couldn't hack it here.

I did notice Alabama had a TOUGH one last week. All I ever hear about is how good Mercer's football program is...
