Tim you know that hardly ever works out,I want to set a couple more this week, but now the weather people are saying 1.5" rain followed by 2 to 4" of wet snow.Iwill have to wait for freeze up before I can get out in the one spot I want to put in 2 coyote sets.Deer were moving this morning light rain mixed with snow.I need to help my brother, then start cutting up my deer.Oh ya check my one mink set I have out...Have a great day everyone.

I find this interesting. Everyone does things differently for their own reasons but the first thing I do when I see a deer I am going to shoot at is crank the scope all the way up. I always leave it set on low power but always shoot it on high power. Most of my scopes are at least 10X on the high end, most are 14.

I have nothing clever to put here.

I find it harder to find the deer in the bush,woods30 to 50 yards on the higher power. My more open stands CRP I'm usually at 12x to 14x on 200 to 400 yard shots.

I am left eye dominant but shoot right handed with both eyes open so I have never had trouble finding them in the scope. Like I said, everyone does things different for their own reasons and it was just an observation.

One buck was shot today, cut up my buck today and watched a little football, later in the week I'm going try to harvest a doe, then I will have enough meat for the year.Steaks, potato sausage and deer bacon etc.Wind was wrong for my one nephew to hunt for that one buck,I watched from a half mile with the spotting scope and he was a no show anyways. He sat behind the house this evening and saw 5 at last light, but no shooter buck.Have 2 busy work days coming so I don't think I will be trying for a doe until Wed or later.

Checked the rain gauge already a 1/2" pretty sure we will get well over an inch,we need it for next year.Turns colder next week so we we only fight mudd for a few days, more snow next week, our nice fall weather is over.50's won't show themselve till late March or April.....Next sit in the deer stand, there should be some white in the woods.

It is snowing again here now. It shows snow on and off well into dark this evening plus. It showed all the way across ND. The last I heard it said heavier to the East, so MN my get some out of it.

No clue as to how much rain we got here but the rivers are up about 8" right now and it's difficult to distinguish the difference between land and water trapping...

I have changed over from land trapping to water trapping a few rimes with some sets. I once had a 220 conibear box set for coon and we got a big rain and the trap was well under water. It was staked, so I figured I had a good chance of finding the trap when the water dropped. Four days after the rain the water dropped and I could see I had a catch from across the river. The box was still there, which shocked me. When I got across the river and over to the set I see I had a beaver. I have no idea what the water level was when I caught it. The fur was full of silt. It always made me wonder when I got it. I have also had coon under water in conibear boxes.
