I never bothered to weigh myself when I started since I was just doing it to support my wife and didn't care much about loosing any weight. Only time I would weigh was a rare trit to the doc and was between 205 and 215 with clothing and boots on.

About a week ago wife got a new scale and I stepped on it in my boxers and was 196. so figured I lost some but I tended to fluctuate 5 lbs back when I was lifting way back when. Today I was 186 now 187 after breakfast and coffee so roughly 10 lbs in a week I can nail down and likely another 5 to 10 over the last 5 weeks but can't nail that down since I don't k own where I was when I started heck I could have been heavier or lighter?

Wife is down 27 lbs and feeling like she is making head way seems to be dropping a lb or more a day the last few weeks 2 today she said. I noticed my pants are getting big but still have a pinch on my belly. Heck my goal when lifting was to hit 215 at 10% body fat and could never get over 210 with higher fat. It's been over a decade since I was under 200. I may get down to 175 or less I was 165 in high school. Seemed to light for me but unless I'm lifting and building muscle probably closer to what I should be at. I'm not going to start working out anytime soon with the schedule I work.

So it takes some education learning what you can eat and will power to not eat things you used to and like UT it the o ly thing I have see you loose weight when you sleep with limited physical effort. And .once you get in the swing of it it's not all that hard like it was at first. So for any guys and gals that want to drop some weight it's a great way to go in my opinion. I'm still learning and figured it was hype and a fad when I heard about it years ago. I mean the government says earing fat is bad for you and food pyramid and all. Everyone knows the government would never lie and always has your best interest in mind.

Get your carbs from vegetables. Stay away from processed junk if at all possible

Only time I cut carbs is with a bread knife.

Kuddos for supporting the wife and I have used a low carb diet to alleviate health issues for a long time now. It flat out works for this guy and everyone I know who uses it.

still not too bad , weight height / BMI is a messed up number that was never intended to be used how it was.
it was an average of the people living in 1880s france

I always wanted to know if I could pick up an average 1880s french man over my head and body slam him down over my knee if that meant those "rules" didn't apply to me.

I am 6'2" 275

if I were 180 back when I was lifting and running I would have been shrink wrapped and probably 2% body fat. I'm thicker across the chest and shoulders and used to have big cut legs Now I'm just feeling old and weak.

upper 180s this morning and guessing probably 10lbs of fat on my stomach. I really need to get on a lifting and exercise program.

I don't know how quickly body will respond to working out now I'm over a decade older. I don't imagine it will be near as quickly at 44 as it did in my 30's.

Went low carb in 2020 and dropped 65 lbs over a year. Actually had abs I had not seen in 30 years. Low carb with a lot of deer, fish, pork and beef. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of muscle mass/strength in the process. Then started eating like I used to (overdosed on sweet-tooth medicine) and eventually gained about 50 lbs back. Now I am trying to return to better eating habits, but plan to eat more protein and not be in such a calorie deficit. Hoping to not lose so much muscle.
I will say that while in ketosis, I had way more energy and felt better. At 62 yrs of age I am trying to improve strength and flexibility. Will see how it goes!

I've been on no carbs for about 4 months. I started at 196. I'm 5'8". My blood pressure spiked so high I had to go to the ER from lack of getting enough oxygen in my blood, causing very lightheadedness.
I am fluctuating between 171 and 175 now. I might have reached as far as I am going reach with this plan. I refer to no carb diet as a plan rather than a diet because a diet means you're hungry all the time. I am not anymore. It seems to have taken care of my high blood pressure, but I still check it frequently to make sure.
If I want to lose the fat remaining just under the skin, I'll need to start doing some walking of other low impact exercise. My goal is to see what 165 feels like. 171-175 feels great!

And probably the biggest, unanticipated bonus for me is a total cure of years of suffering with acid reflux. My upper esophageal sphincter muscle has healed (one month after going low carb). No more Omeprazol, no more needing to sleep inclined on my back, etc., etc..
