I've been seeing this deer show up on my camera for the past few weeks. I wonder what caused it.

I shot one like that one time. I didn't know it only had three legs until I walked up to gut it. The "stump" was completely covered with hide and hair so it had been that way for a long time, maybe even from birth? It was an otherwise healthy adult deer.

in 2017 we shot 3 deer all 3 had car crash damage

my brother shot a doe running full speed on the tibia fresh break dirt in the white cartilage

the doe my son shot had a front femur/radius joint that was the size of a soft ball and that 1/4 was yellow and shiny and smaller than the un injured one.

my dad shot a buck limping on a fresh radius break

talked to a guy in town Friday that year , saw him the next day he had gotten the first deer of the weekend with his truck Friday night which seemed like cheating but his new Toyota truck was all sorts of messed up so he was paying for it.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Amazing how tough critters can be. Years ago I caught a coyote that was missing three feet. I caught it by the only good foot. All three stubs were hided over and that coyote was fat as any coyote I've ever caught. I always wondered how it lost three feet.

That's a high cut with a sickle bar mower, but could of happened as a fawn.

I did too, it was running right along side two other deer. matching their stride.
I saw horns and shot, about 75yds. It had no leg at all, most likely born that way.

Had a young buck on the farm one year. He swung his right front leg when he walked and never put it down. Saw him all summer and through bow season. Had one antler that went up and the other was turned down. Watched him chase does and rub trees. I loved watching him just because didn't let his little disability slow him down. The little guy had a great attitude... called him "Lucky". Found him after rifle season. Some jerk trespasser shot him and left him lay. Still pisses me off to think about it.

Could also been caught in a fence with 2 strands of barb wire on top.
I shot an antelope that had only 3 legs and it kept up with herd with no problem

I seen 3 legged doe yesterday as a matter of fact.
Missing right front including the shoulder.
Deer did not seem to be affected in any way. tail wagging like a dog, feeding away.
Im wondering if it was a birth defect.

Fits right along with the politics of today. We eat our friends a little at a time, until they are all gone.
