Saw the post, and almost answered with an opinion, but decided not to, as I never tried it and couldn't say. Would probably hold better than a single stake, but, better than a cross staked double ???.

you talked about welding a sicle mower blade on the rebar would you put one one each side or one total and would this make them drive into the ground better? It would not make them easier to drive into the ground, but harder. The purpose would be so they couldn't be pulled out as easy as a regular rebar.
