Title says it all, with a new administration coming in who has complete control of Washington is there any push to permanently remove wolves from the endangered species act? This seems like something we should be working towards immediately. I like that, not sure how to even start to get Trumps attention on this subject. I bet he is all for it, though.

You have to eliminate the courts out of the equation, otherwise the courts will rule on emotions rather than science every time. And congress is the only body that can do that.

Wisconsin’s Tom Tiffany and Ron Johnson have been leaders on the issue. If Hovde would have beaten Baldwin for US Senate, I would guaranteed it was done in the first 100 days. That said, I am pretty sure Tom will be fighting like crazy to keep it on track.

You have to eliminate the courts out of the equation, otherwise the courts will rule on emotions rather than science every time. And congress is the only body that can do that. This is the best chance to eliminate the courts from the issue, if they pass a law specifically handing control of wolves to the states then that is it, atleast at the federal level the courts are out of it and we can pursue the fight at state level legislation

That’s correct. We can hold our own in the state. Federal Courts are a mess as they can shop around for a sympathetic judge.
WI does have a big race for our next Supreme Court judge coming up. For those that were disappointed in not getting Hovde across the finish line, here is a good consolation prize.

This seems like something we should be working towards immediately. I'm all for it but I think this is pretty low on the priority list for the new admin given the other issues they need to deal with. Rather than just addressing wolves, I would like to see legislation that allows decisions made by the US F&W Service to be much more difficult to challenge in the courts. Perhaps a 5 year period of implementation for any F&W ruling before it can be challenged in order to collect data on the effects of a change instead of a judge's decision based on idle speculation.

What did Trump do for Wolf hunting/trapping the last time he was in office? I can tell you is for outdoorsman. Last time they fought him on everything from day one, he didn't have much of a chance to do most of the things he wanted to do.
