Hello,
What is the best way to take a green/grease fur and soften it to be fleshed and stretch after having it frozen? Thanks a bunch!

Beav,
Thanks, I normally put them up right away, however due to kids learning this year I froze a pile of skinned rats and now I am trying to get them ready to stretch. Appreciate your input.

I skin and freeze lots of fur.
It is much better to put up the small stuff right away when you skin it as it only takes a couple minutes.
I freeze the hides of larger animals like beaver after skinning, and put them up later when trapping is winding down in late winter.
You can always pull some out to put up when you have a day off from trapping during the season also.
Like beav said, just thaw them out at room temp and flesh and board as soon as they are thawed.
I normally take a few out after supper and they are ready to board the next day.
Small pelts like rats etc will thaw out in an hour or two at room temp.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
