That is a crazy amount of rules. Sounds like your beaver regs would fill our reg book cover to cover. Most likely being I only mentioned half of the beaver regs haha. Trap tag must be above water, not aloud to set within 15’ of hut or dam, not aloud to disturb dam or hut, traps to be checked every 36 hrs, during otter season wmus with otter season the amount of traps aloud to be set is even less than 10 are just a few others haha if you traveled to the different limit amounts aloud in wmus your grand total of beaver aloud is 125.

Dang, they must really like beavers in PA. We have entirely too many of them I don't think they get targeted a whole lot, most guys are trapping "better" fur bearers like marten, wolves, and wolverine. If I'm making water sets in an area, I'm generally the only one doing so. You can also drive a truck on most of our lakes right now, so there is a certain amount of work involved.

You will see beaver tracks in that mud if any are left before you see any other activity like rebuilding the dam. Sometimes they leave for a while after a breach like that then return later. I always look for their tracks in the mud at the house after I lower water to natural flow at a nuisance spot.Lots of times the tracks will give you an idea if they went upstream or downstream, then you can set accordingly to finish the job. You can find some deadly blind setting locations after dropping the water to natural flow.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Went on a little walkabout now that things are drained. Creek has came down over 5 feet. Pretty crazy the amount of water they had in here Today's view at the bottom dam Creek restored to natural size Den entrances and some bank dens easily visible now Funny enough, I had a fully submerged 330 set here between these two grass clumps in this run where that diagonal stick is at. Now that spot is about 4 feet above the elevation of water. Gives a good idea of how much it has went down
Gotta live up to the nickname...

Hows water levels treating you Musty? I've been unable to trap since before Christmas with all the fronts coming in. It looks like I'll finally get falling water levels in a day or two that I can actually get out and trap on. The yellow line is flood stage/ bankful:

Hope you get out and do some damage. Have you had much luck on otter this year? But yeah its been wet up here too. Most creeks and river systems are flooded and out of the question for trapping. The high water seems to push some beaver out of the ditches and up into the ponds that I trap so it has been pretty consistent up there. Got my little pile of beaver sorted and shipped out for the Glenns Ferry sale though lol

Nice looking pile of beaver Musty. Hope you do good. And nope, not caught an otter yet. I've only had 5 checks in December so far. Got 40 beaver put up and would sure like to have another 40 or more to take to Glenn's Ferry in two weeks.
