Run your rows north/south or east/west?

North/South is supposed to be better in North America.

Need to take your slope/sun into account.

I run my raised beds north-south. I build four-foot wide by sixteen to twenty-four foot long beds separated by four-foot strips of grass. I generally put the taller stuff like corn, tomato and cucumber cages in the western-most beds.

East west. It makes more sense to me to have the space between the rows for a southerly sun.im guessing it doesn't matter a whole lot though

I plant on a north to south slope, so I plant rows east to west

My garden faces east.

northeast to southwest rows.

West to east. Face them the other way and the prevailing West winds will knock down the rows

East to west. Tallest plants in the back row.

I plant N to S row plants. At the ranch is full sun all day but only plant melon, squash and pumpkins there so reallyy doesn't matter what direction. I have to room there for those vine plants to spread their wings.

Never paid much attention ....more important is (in ohio) full sun......good draining soil.......slope.......how much damaging wildlife is there to deal with.

My rows run east-west because that's what I have room for. On the south side of the house, I have 2 small garden areas, that the rows will run north-south, but the rows are only like 4 feet long.

East west, because they get the most sunlight !
