What are the tricks to trapping squirrels? Cage trapping them.

Cages up off the Ground I put the bait pb or Walnut paste hanging in the back behind the pan.
Are they easy to catch. I need to relocate a few.

110s are the best but I’ve caught them in cages, I make a trail of a tiny bit of peanut butter going to the pan of the trap where I put a small glob on top of the trip pan and then I take a corncob or a stick with peanut butter all over it in the back
PETA is stupid.

I made a feed pile and after a few days I emptied the pile and left a baited trap . On and off till I got all of them.
I believe those nervous Lil Red squirrels are the hardest to get. Black and Grey are next.
Fox squirrel is the easiest.

I truly think the sunflower seeds are addictive to them.

I truly think the sunflower seeds are addictive to them. Agreed on the reds, those little so and so's are insane. I have one I tried catching in a weasel box, they won't go in it. So conibears on a few tree trunks should do it.

These are those sneaky reds. I hate them. I read, but didn't try it. That if you find a dead one ( road kill , possibly) . Rub the rear section all over the trap entrance. Their territorial and curiosity instincts will kick in. I do know that after my first one in the trap. Seems like the rest were alot easier to get inside. Possibly any of the squirrel varieties would create that affect. Maybe as a last resort try it if you can find one.

I take a Bounty Paper Towel, rub peanut butter all through it and put it through the treadle, so that it's hard to get out. The squiggles will frenetically jerk on the paper towel, to try to get it out, setting off the trap. This works with even the largest sized, hard to set off, box traps, with high treadle pan tension.

So conibears on a few tree trunks should do it. Try putting a couple peanuts in the shell outside the box and one on the rim of the hole. Use a Victor rat trap with a peanut in the shell wired to the yellow pan. Works for me on the little pests.
The deer have a pretty good chance this season. Hunters are getting older and millennials think meat comes from stores.

I got one set with marshmallow on trip wire coated with peanut buttah. I attached coni bear to a wood with two nails for the coni to rest and stand up right and have it leaning in the tree on a branch going up.
We will see if I can get a few of them. Way too many of those tree rats.
