Stupid Badger re-ruined a great hay set I made (AGAIN).

[Linked Image]

Bigger than the first one, I may abandon this set as a potential for coyotes or bobcats.

Good spot to bring in some buckets to collect some dirt for the season right there. Bring in a sifter and it will go pretty quickly. I use to get lots of dirt to use for a while in Kansas after a few badger catches if the weather was decent.

I would think that all that fresh dirt and disturbance may be a great attractor for other critters. Just move 10 feet away and plug in a fresh set.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Reminds me of Ducktales. Uncle Scrooge had a Worry Room where he would just hollow out the floor

Right there is a step down set with a built in back stop.

Interesting. I would think the catch circle dirt would reek of badger. Are you using that dirt as an attractant or just a trap covering, or a combination of both? I know badger catch circle resets have been productive for canines and cats for me.

United we stand.

Rake debris into center. One trap at pile and one or 2 at perimeter is how I would reset.

Both. Don't just use the dirt for trap cover. Spread some of that excess sifted dirt around your new sets for a couple 3 feet or so, don't just put a bullseye on the trap bed alone. Save some rocks also for guiding, blocking and backers as needed.

Kiss of death here for coyotes.

Worth its weight in gold for cats.

Welcome to dealing with diggers!!

They can make some serious mortar craters, although they seldom figure out to dig TOWARDS the stake to maybe get that out of the ground wink

"And God said, Let us make man in our image and let them have dominion and all the creatures that move along the ground".
Genesis 1:26
