Have been thinking about acquiring one of these for awhile. Santa gave me the green light, so . . . .

Anyone have one and care to share thoughts and/or experience? Appreciated. Preferred handle design?

I am cheap and run a 12" Tramontana manchette , it hurts less when I lose it , to I have no idea how but I have lost 2 some place I am not sure if they grow legs and people borrow them on me.
I think it might have something to do with an actually sharp machete.

I have a "kukri", and love it. I'd bet I could get along with that design, just fine.

Forever in debt to my Father who introduced me to trapping.
May I be half the man he was.

price is ridiculous
I would get the leather handle.
I would not get that style because the curve on the sharp side of the blade would limit its use for me as a trapper.

I use my machete all of the time. I've always wondered about the Woodman's Pal. Cool but short and pricey.

the woodsman's pal is supposed to be more of a knife type steel 1075 high carbon

it is a multi tool , like all multi tools it has plusses and minuses as to what tasks it does well trying to do many

that it comes with a leather sheath is nice and a curved sharpening stone

add American made to this and $$$

The pal is nice but when we were young we just used corn knives. Thinking about getting a brush axe to keep my fingers away from the briars though
