It’s been one heck of season for my family and the property I hunt.

Brennan started it off with this 176” buck.


Zachary was next with a 143” buck.


Next was CJ that got a buck Brennan wanted gone. It was a 5.5yr old buck that broke his leg when he was 3. Just shows how resilient they are.


And then I got lucky and shot my target buck. He ended up scoring 150” despite a broke off G1 and chipped G3. My biggest archery buck yet.




I got a call one afternoon asking if I was gonna hunt? I asked why and the young lady asked if I would help her get to and up her stand and listen out for her while her husband watched their daughter. If course I said yes…it’s my DIL sister, so she’s like family, plus she’s 8 months pregnant and getting in and out of the stand was getting difficult, lol!! She just had a feeling “her buck” was gonna show. He did and was a stud at 154”.


The very next afternoon her husband got one of the bucks he was after! A unique buck that scored 155”


It’s truly been an epic season.

CJ buck appears to be the largest body size. Were any of them fat? Will they all be good eating?

That’s impressive. People pay large amounts of money to kill deer like that, which I’m sure you are aware of. It’s nice to have good deer to hunt. Nice deer!

Despite all in the same county, the 150’s and 140 was taken on the place I hunt and our rut was almost over…so smaller body weights.
Here’s my buck to just show what the rut does to them…



We’re in the Southern part of the county. CJ’s deer was killed in the Northern part of the county where Brennan killed his…their rut was just starting. His buck chased a doe through a pond with him swimming behind her. No shot when they exited, but they came running back through the woods on the other side where they exited and the buck stopped for a quick shot. CJ and his .243 are a deadly combination.


Haha, that’s gone now. The wife said No Shave November is over! Plus I told her I wasn’t shaving until I killed that buck.

Still shocked at the body size y’all maintain so far South.

Your buck’s neck is wider than his body.

I’m still in rut on occasion. Wish I could drop weight like that.
