In PA a lot of the farms that I trapped rad hard packed clay soil Unless it was raining a lot a times the surface of the ground was barely disturbed with a red fox catch Now a skunk or ground hog could rearrange some dir t When I said it must have been in the set for a long time I meant it must have been caught soon after it got dark and it was just after sunrise when you arrived to remove i I had a number of doubles on reds and it always gets your going Never had a triple though One season I had3 fox sets within about 15 to 20 feet of each other A dirt hole and 2 post sets After about a week of checking I had a possum ad a red Then I had a double on reds followed by a single red and than another double on reds again So 5 fox in 3 sets in 3days Another time I had 3 fox sets on a contour strip I had a gray followed by a red and than I had a gray red double and finished with another red I had caught grays and reds in the same sets on different days but it was the only time I had a gray red double And still another different double was a location I only made 2 sets at The ground was very rough and uneven and had some high weeds mixed in with spots that had no vegetation just fine stone I managed to put 2 sets in but did not have much expectation. Several days passed until I had a red More days passed without a catch Then one morning while glassing the 2 sets from abou3oo hundred yards while on the farmers tractor road something di not look right but I did not see movement I finally decided to drive the field edge to get a closer look I was keeping my eyes on the location of the traps as I got neared but was not seeing any movement I have about give up any chance of having anything in either set But my approach to them get them on their feet and dancing a different kind of dance from zero to 2 in the blink of and eye it was a good day to be seeing double
