I remember reading it in High School and it sticks with me. Here is a version spoken by Ian McKellan. Very enjoyable. Have any of you ever read this?
Enjoy at your leisure, if you like…

The Rhyme is my favorite poem. I've listened to that version before.

Here's where I first learned it.

These are the two best and most important stanzas:

"Farewell, farewell! but this I tell
To thee, thou wedding-guest!
He prayeth well, who loveth well
Both man and bird and beast.

He prayeth best, who loveth best
All things both great and small;
For the dear God who loveth us,
He made and loveth all.""

Keith

I love it too. I can hardly remember Beowulf but I like that one too. The Ancient Mariner was memorable

I dont get poetry. At all. Quite a few songs I like I have no clue what the message in the lyrics is. I barely survived the high school English courses we were tortured with.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

You are lucky that you didn't not have my 9th grade teacher
It was the year I decided school was not for me.
I did stick it out and graduated.....

Only for my mom.........

There is supposedly religious symbolism in it but I honestly couldn’t care less. That’s just one interpretation. I’m not particularly artsy at all. I like the museum of natural history in Pittsburgh because it’s fun. The taxidermy hall of north and South America is obviously cool for the taxidermy. Geology and botany are cool too. But I would never go to a museum full of paintings purposely.

Just always enjoyed this poem since I was young.

"The Cremation of Sam McGee" is the absolute best poem of all time.

Robert Service is great. My absolute favorite is "Spell of the Yukon".
