Odd that they dont get their skunks vaxxed for rabies when they get them de scented.

The vaxx may not be available. For dogs/canines there is a specific vaxx. It may not be compatible to Mustilds. I had some pet Ferrets years ago , I was never offered a vaxx.

I caught a baby skunk by hand and put it in a paper bag,took it to the vet and had it de scented and vaxxed at the same time.
That was back in 1970.
Nowadays there are oral vaccines for many wild animals and different strains (ie raccoon rabies).
They are often dropped by aircraft when there are localized outbreaks of rabies in southern ontario.
