Wondering if anyone has any ideas on avoiding grey fox in coyotes sets? We don’t have a whole lot in my area so I’d like to let them be but still want to catch the coyotes. I’ve heard mixed opinions on releasing them, some say they will be fine others say they stress and die. Thoughts?

I would say any critter released within a 24hr check will be fine.

Increase pan tension to 4 lbs. Might avoid most of them.

Doesn't take much to damage a gray fox's foot. I think pan tension is the best bet.

I have sold several of them to the running pens, and releasing them will not cause them to stress and die. I have held them for weeks, with out any problems. There leg bones are weak so do not be ruff with them. Most of them are pretty calm and are no problem to release but some are mean as H ll, and they will show you how fast they are.
