If you had a roulette wheel that had 1" wide slots for each chance at winning, the diameter of the wheel would be approx 33 miles. Now pick the one slot that the ball will fall in in a 33 mile dia wheel. Good luck.

Then I gave to explain to the cashier why I ask for losing tickets vs winning. The odds of me losing are much greater than winning so I feel better when I lose as I got what I asked for. And if I actually win, then I just have to deal with it.... Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Me, I'm more of a realist, I have never spent a penny on a lottery. A good bet would be that those that buy lottery tickets will never win. The odds are VERY skewed on that bet.
