That stinks! You get your truck smashed and the state take the meat. Everytime you leave your place and venture the roads here you're taking a calculated risk for sure. You always see people with their hazards on and a dead moose in the road, and you think "thank God I'm not that guy" but eventually you will be that guy. My wife's grandpa died from a motorcycle v. moose

Was heading down the road towards town a couple hours ago with my trailer loaded with firewood, I saw Mama run across in front of me and I slowed down just in time to whack the calf as it came into the road. Ended up spinning a full 520 with a cord of wood jack knifed into the bed of my pickup. No major damage, just some dents and a dead moose. Even got moose hair stuck to the side of my trailer lol. What's a"full 520"?

It was few years ago that I was In Alaska staying with my daughter. She called form the office and said dad get the truck and my knifes we have a moose to butcher. She was on the roadkill list. I don't know if the driver was hurt but the car was still there, and it didn't look good. We salvaged most of the moose and rest went to feed the dog team.

I'm not a mathematician. But I started out southbound, hit the moose and spun a full circle, plus another half turn so I was facing northbound (trailer was oriented east/west shoved into the back corner of the bed) Evidently. 360 + 180 =??

Section crews always had lots of moosemeat all year round.Moose dont do well against a train. Between North Bay and Temagami the trains ran at night. On avg a moose a week was salvaged. Some were badly damaged and only a fraction salvageable but some were almost 100% salvageable In winter you could see the marks in the snow where the moose that was hit square flew thru the air and landed across the ditch by the tree line.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
