Everytime you leave your place and venture the roads here you're taking a calculated risk for sure. You always see people with their hazards on and a dead moose in the road, and you think "thank God I'm not that guy" but eventually you will be that guy. My wife's grandpa died from a motorcycle v. moose

Quarter panel where the calf's head hit, the bed where the trailer jack knifed into me, and some moose hair stuck in my wheel well where the calf bounced off the side of the truck when the trailer started pushing me around after I hit the brakes

What's a"full 520"?

I left the bar one night circa 2008 in a week old mustang I bought on a drunken whim. Made it to my driveway safe and sound. I locked my gate and headed through the field and somehow I drove into a cow pecking order dispute and a 1400# Charolais spun a circle on top of the shaker hood.

It was few years ago that I was In Alaska staying with my daughter. She called form the office and said dad get the truck and my knifes we have a moose to butcher. She was on the roadkill list. I don't know if the driver was hurt but the car was still there, and it didn't look good. We salvaged most of the moose and rest went to feed the dog team.

I'm not a mathematician. But I started out southbound, hit the moose and spun a full circle, plus another half turn so I was facing northbound (trailer was oriented east/west shoved into the back corner of the bed)

540. Although I might have actually been really close with my 520 guess, I wasn't perfectly aligned northbound lol

Yeah, I encourage some people to hit a moose in the dark and keep track of exactly how many rotations they make on the ice before everything settles. And it's not like it was peace and quiet while it was unfolding, I had the wife screaming in one ear, and 2/3 dogs panicking in the back seat, one of them (my KBD pup) was smart enough to just tuck under the back seat and ride it out.

Section crews always had lots of moosemeat all year round.Moose dont do well against a train.
Between North Bay and Temagami the trains ran at night. On avg a moose a week was salvaged. Some were badly damaged and only a fraction salvageable but some were almost 100% salvageable
In winter you could see the marks in the snow where the moose that was hit square flew thru the air and landed across the ditch by the tree line.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.
