You can get all the slugs you want on line. I stopped going in gun shops to buy anything 15 years ago. They never have what you want and if they do it is over priced. I don't like driving to town to hope I can find what I want, so I order on line.

NOW NOW bunch of people on here advocate for hoarding. I got ridiculed for questioning how come people were bragging they had 15,000 plus 22lr shells. 1,000's of deer rifle rounds. My statement keep doing it only makes them get more expensive. PLUS how long they going to live. Some said they were going to use them to buy food. LOL.
I made the mistake of finding some on sell for low cost and resold them. You would have thought I sinned against the Holy spirit. But buying stock, guns, , land or bitcoin at a cheap price and reselling is ok. Same thing in my opinion.......

Now let the excuses start.

There's being well stocked then there's just being selfish, if you walk into a store and clean a shelf out a week or two before season so your "well stocked" then your probably just selfish.

I always bought Nobel #11 caps 1,000 at a time.
Got down to last tin, and NOWHERE to.be found.
All caps dried up a few years ago, I contacted CCI a few years back and they said they might resume production in a couple years!

Oddly enough, bought a small lot of outdoor stuff at an auction last fall.
Was a box of CCI #11 caps in it, with 8 tins and some change left.

Green county Sherriff staffed up for opening weekend of the first gun deer season with rifles in Green County adding a deputy for the weekend to investigate stray rounds.

happily they didn't have a one

they went from an average of 3-5 a year hitting equipment , tanks , shed , ect..to zero with rifles
people respect rifles because they know they can hit at 1000yards and they can acctually hit the deer at 200

they think because they can't control a slug past 100 yards they think it is in the dirt by 150 , that isn't true they try and hail marry them in at 200 but aim so high they are sending then 400+

No excuses here. Have never resold any, but have given a lot away, traded, donated to youth programs, etc.
Plus, we shoot. A lot.

If I die with 50,000 rounds, kids and grandkids will use it.

Love how some always blame others for their shortsightedness

it isn't hoarding if I buy 3 boxes of 5 slugs at a time over 9 months of the year seasons are not running

yes I ordered a case of my preferred pheasant ammo online in April season starts in Oct

I didn't consider the state if buying ammo on-line.

Here in Georgia, buying ammo on-line is as easy as ordering anything else. No ID...No DL pic.

I bet you will never read his posts on line about running out. I try to keep well stocked up on everything, not just gun stuff. If I don't feel like going to town for a month I don't need to. If something I use goes on sale and isn't perishable, I load up on it. Tobacco was a LOT cheaper last week when I was out there hunting so I REALLY stocked up. If the price is right, my motto is "It won't go bad or get any cheaper".

I have nothing clever to put here.

My wife I am the same way. We buy cans of corn and green beans by the case. Cream of chicken and mushroom by the case. 25 pound bags of flour and sugar. We have done that for 35 years. If I buy 21 boxes of 410 shells to get free shipping is that hoarding? What if I buy another 21 if they get cheaper to get my average down?

All the shells I shot last week were probably from the 50's or 60's and many were paper. They don't go bad............

All the pundits said NY’s southern zone would be more dangerous when they legalized rifles. I think it has made hunting there less dangerous.
Yes rifles are more accurate, so no need to spray the countryside with shotgun slugs.

I 100% agree, they don't go bad. I have shells I reloaded in the early 70's. Does that make me a hoarder since I have not shot them all up? OI used to load shotgun shells and put them in a five gallon bucket. I never boxed any of them. Duck and goose loads were loaded by the ammo can full. That is how I was raised. Maybe it was child abuse.

Someplace in my junk I have a picture from when I was 12. We went to ND Goose hunting for 3 or 4 days. I must have been all of 65 pounds but I shot BOXES of 3 inch lead BB's. I was bruised from my sternum to my elbow. That old Coast to Coast 12 gauge pump didn't have a recoil pad on it and most of the shooting was laying on my back. As I recall, very few geese were harmed but I had a great time.

I am not sure I weight 65 when I was 12. I made up for it now. I shot until I was black and blue more then once.

I learned in boy scouts to be prepared. Why would you ever run out?

Not to mention the guy's that try to get rich marking them up to sell to those that need them. When ammo first started to get scarce, all the gun shows were loaded with bungholes that cleaned out the basement of any thing with gunpowder in it, and tried to sell at insanely high prices.

Doesn't anyone buying and selling anything not mark it up? Do you think grocery stores are selling at a loss? What about trap dealers going to conventions? Are they the devil too? If you don't like the price of something, don't buy it. I am not sure the ammo shortage was ever as bad as some of you think. There was ammo, maybe not where some were looking. The guy that started this post was saying he can't find slugs. I can.

Geez, it is a good thing I ran across this. I have a box of shells marked $1.05 I was going to sell but I don't want to be a "Bunghole" and overcharge.
