I’ve used both standard and heavy duty Berks for years. Am thinking about moving to Pogos.
Are both good or is one better

I've used Iowa Earth Anchors (open-ended), HD Berkshires and now use Wolf Fangs. I won't use anything else.
In my experience, the open-ended anchors would constantly stick to the driver, even in dry dirt, and I kept busting the ends off the HD Berkshires. I have not one complaint about Wolf Fangs since I started using them and I trap in some tough dirt.
I also make my own Wolf fangs and have just recently went to pulling them up by drilling down beside them with a 2" auger. If you gear up with them, be sure to buy you a Tom Stalker driver. It will last you a very long time!
Sit with warriors. The conversation is different.

In my varied soil conditions I've settled on wolffangs. Lots of rocky ground here and they work and are the best bang for my buck

I have never used pogos, but have used wolf fangs and hd berks. I like the wolf fangs much better. Some batches of the HD berkshires the cup for the driver bends and the driver slips off in hard soil.

I’ve had too many of the HD Berk tips bend out. The standard Berks have held a lot of fur. Read that as coyotes to beavers. The advantage of berk standards is they hold and don’t need specific drivers.
But lately, I’ve had some critters pull the whole works out of the ground and believe a wider disposable would be better.

I only use berks now. Don’t need a special driver just a sharpened rebar stake works great. They hold everything I catch here from coyotes to coon to beaver just fine. Nice and light too. Jim

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I exclusively used wolf fangs when I still used a lot of “disposables”. They’re probably the “toughest” anchors type on the market that’s still cheap enough to be called disposable.
I’m back to 95% rebar these days though.

I used earth anchors quite a bit, with all chain, no cable. I've went to a lot of drags or chaining off to trees these days. But most all of my traps have earth anchors on the end of their chain. They anchor solid, and you can usually drive them through about anything but solid bedrock. They are a pain to pull though. On the other hand, if you are in an area where you are worried about theft, most thieves won't have the equipment to pull them or cut the chain, as long as you don't have a quick link connecting the trap to the anchor chain the trap is most likely going to be there when you get back, maybe worse for wear, but there. Warning, if you have all welded connections like I do, take a pair of bolt cutters with you when pulling, in case you can't get the anchor up.

I’ve used the pogos for going on 12 years with no complaints. In our soil conditions here, loamy-sandy I’ve found nothing better, faster, or cheaper than them. Will hold whatever is on the other end with little to no effort. I run 12”-15” of 1/8 cable with about 6 links or so of #2 twist link for a transition to my 18” of trap chain. Provides many swivel points and I’ve never had a failure from the setup. Now my end is another story….. lol
