I love my hammer like that, I want to round the handle some with some sand paper, its hard to hold for me with the sharp edges.

I prefer a hammer with blade coming out straight ! when using a hammer with angled blade and digging in hard ground the hammer bounces and doesnt go as deep. Straight blade give all downward thrust into hard ground instead of bounce !

Might need the curved blade if its also going to be used for " Meskin Wackin"?Like a multi tool.

Nice looking hammer.

My elbows can't take those heavy, short handled hammers any more.

And I agree on a straighter blade, especially in frozen ground.

Saveller, that is a neat hammer. Do they make one twice as big for a man sized fella like myself? That 2 pounder might work good in texas sand but probably won't cut it here

Gotta live up to the nickname...

Move over Clint Eastwood, new movie star in the picture now. Wish I'd sent you a skinning machine years ago to promote, I'd be a rich man now with your endorsement.

I prefer my blades on my digging hammers to be straight and not with any angle. When you try to dig with a curved blade particularly into frozen ground, they tend to glance off and can cause some injuries to shins when standing and putting lots of force behind the hammer. Kneeling they can chip ice and frozen ground into your face. Just my experience over 55 + years.

… sounds like it’s a good thing I don’t have frozen ground… from the replies it seems like curved blades are a no go ,… never noticed an issue down here

I have one of those and I need to sell it.

That handle kill my hands after pounding a couple stakes in.

I was told to wrap the handle in paracord and it is much better.
