Used to have some kids culling blue crabs, if you cull crabs your going to get bit, even with gloves , and it hurts..
They'd get bit and start taking out their pain and anger out on the crab by smashing it. I'd yell at them, "you can't blame a crab for doing what crabs do....'

Sounds like you need more coyote houndsmen in your area. Ill promise the last thing a coyote is doing in our area is running to investigate a barking dog. The minute they hear barking, they are making an exit stategy. Hope your buddies dog pulls through this, sure dont like seeing any dog in that shape....

I’ll be honest; if a coyote killed my dog I’d probably hate them for the rest of my life. Although I do understand the nature of things as I’m sure we all do.

There alot of coyote houndsman in the area.Its the smaller dogs like beagles that are being attacked.The dog died.

Coyotes don't love or hate. Neither do dogs. They're animals being animals.

There is, it was back in the 80s. I don't remember the details. What I do remember is when I herd the story I was on the trappline In AZ. It made me think of how peaple humanize their pets. Arizona lost there trapping because of pets. Most trappers would agree that humonizing dogs is the # 1 reason we have lost most of our trapping in a time where peaple make decisions on emotions rather than reality. It's sad that Bruce's friend lost his Beagle to coyotes. It's also sad when some one loses there life to a grizzly or a lion or tiger ect.
I do understand Bocos point. If the man who lost his dog to a coyote had lost his Dog to a trap. He probably would not have been very happy about that situation either. In life things happen and and if peaple respond with nothing but hatred and emotion to unfortunate circumstances that accur in the natural world we will be a world of un natural law and bondage.

I feel like when people see the threat it becomes much more intolerable to them. A dog dies of Lyme disease, parvo virus, kidney disease, etc….they can somehow accept it. A younger dog dies by the hands of another animal in an “accidental” setting, then they become angry. I know I would be. I don’t think it is wrong to be angry. Frustrated, overwhelmed with grief, and the like.
Losing a beloved friend and companion is difficult no matter what.
My dog has a mass in her throat and while palliative care is making her life tolerable, I am still angry that it happened to her.
It is the cards we are dealt and I guess ..no one or no Thing is actually responsible for it or caused it.
