That sucks….

Hate to see that. My dad lost a young female walker dog that was turning into a good one. Turned her loose and she got treed deep, by the time we got to her, two coyotes had her opened up and done. I'll keep after them as long as i can.

I like to think that the coyotes just trying to survive, but my dog had an encounter this spring while I was having a dart one morning. I was about 20yds away and was able to charge in there quick and Morty’s about a 50lb chocolate lab full of pee & vinegar. There was others close by in the bush. I thought of what could’ve really happened if I was on the other side of the house, and about how I would’ve reacted. A coyotes just being a coyote, and I would’ve been a human reacting with vengeance like a human….lol

Anyone have experience of coyote going into coop after chickens........also why don't states dept wildlife put bounty on them...and knock numbers down for a few years

My closest neighbor is a houndsman club called the Mohawk Beagle Club. They have over 100 acres high fenced and train beagles to run snowshoe hare. They have a couple of field trials each year. When they take their beagles hare hunting outside of their high fence, they always worry about coyotes killing their dogs.
Several of their members have had dogs injured and killed. Sorry to hear about your friends beagle.

When animal rights people lose their dog to a trap,they feel the same way about trappers as you feel about coyotes.

Never had them go into the coop.
But they got brazen enough that they came up in the yard to steal chickens.
2 of the times we were outside and less than 50 feet away when it happened.
That's what made me decide to start targeting yotes.

The DNR charge for license to trap them and hunt them so I would say they own the yotes. Yotes should be the states problem and control them, but they don't but still charge to hunt them and trap them. There needs to be something done with the large populations of these dogs.

Couldn't care less about what animal rights people feel. The big difference would be that we don't target their dogs, but coyote's do target ours.

Just pointing out how stupid it is to hate coyotes for doing what they do.
