I'm working on it. Today I've jumped through a bunch of hoops to get this done. I don't understand why it has to be so complicated, but it is for the non-tech folks like me. The next step is to upload something like what they say here, and I have no idea what they're talking about...

I think that it’s because the site was built on HTML. HTML is not used anymore.

When I get stuff like that, I just tell them I have no idea what you are talking about and can you please do it for me. They have been good about that in the past.

That said I THINK that can be done in the cpanel on performive's site after you get into it. If you think I can be any help, please ask but don't expect much, I'm pretty clueless with this stuff. I looked around in the cpanel there myself, did a little googling, but scared to try anything for fear of making things worst on my site.

Here’s whats going on Paul.
They provide you with a file and ask that you make it available to them on your server so they can do a search for it.
If they can find it it means you are in fact the administrator of the site.
(If you’re not the admin you would not be able to place the file where it needs to be)
This proves to them that you are in fact the owner of the site.
Once they can access that file and verify the “token” value thats in the file, they will generate the renewed certificate.

Once the cert is generated it needs to be installed (placed) where it needs to be.

Hope there is a remedy soon
