So, here's the facts:

I'm looking at expanding my dog-proof arsenal to do some more trapping, as I have got some new spots, but just lack the traps to set them. So, I went down to my local sporting goods store, and found that they only carried Freedom Brand FB2 Dog Proofs. I personally have only run Dukes, but I am willing to try something new as long as they can produce. So, has anyone on here had any luck with them? Or am I better off looking elsewhere for some traps?

My experience is they are junk and the company would not stand behind their product. I bought a dozen to try. One of them had the springs bend on the first set and their customer service would not replace as I had set it. I asked to talk to his supervisor and was given the same run around. I can post pics of the trap if you would like.!

I have moved to either NO BS or Duke for all my dog proof traps. I wanted very bad to buy from an American made company but junk is junk.

I ordered 2 dozen of them last time they were on special at fnt and I like them. The bottom part is a little tougher to get in hard ground than the stake style. They are on special again now at fnt and for that price I don't think they can be beat. I also use dukes and bridgers.

I had ( notice had) about 5 dozen of them. Baught them for the ease of how they set because of busted up hands. That is the only thing good I have to say about them. Very hard to get your trigger adjustment set between it taking Bigfoot to set it off and a field mouse. Caught a possum in one of them and it destroyed the trap. Sold them and went to Z-traps. Have had occasional problems with them also such as faulty welds. [Linked Image]

X2. I had a dozen and thought they were junk. Mine either wouldn’t stay set or wouldn’t fire. They might make nice paperweights but that’s it.

Z's are very thin metaled and you better not let em rust at all.

I like the Dukes except where they come from. The Fnt's Freedoms can miss a lot of activity. Bridger dp's rust faster (even treated) than any trap of any type I have ever used and that's a long list over a long time. I have not used Z traps but I have some other dp's that I'm not sure are even still made.
This my experience only. Any resemblance to anyone else's experience, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

I don’t know if people are confusing traps or what. That picture is not an FB2. The FB2s I have have been bullet proof, but to be fair I don’t use near as many as some people.

That picture of the destroyed trap looks like a Z-trap. Here's a picture of one [Linked Image]

You exactly right. A Z trap with faulty weld as I stated. The fb traps I got rid of had a flat paddle made on the spring that hooked to top of trap when set. Just squeeze and it’s set. Very hard to get tension set right. Carry a file with you and after each catch reset your tension. Pain in the kaboos junk.

What you’re describing is an FB1, not a 2. They’re made quite a but different.
