Fell tonight walking back to the house after getting the mail. Flower pot jumped out and went down like a tree on the brick walk. Took the skin off the back of my hand but the rest of me faired pretty good. I am wondering how many more times or years before I start fearing it and raise the level of caution against it.
If you are already thinking about it and have increased your awareness of it, can you share what age that started or main event that caused it?

I fall all the time when out in the bush trapping. Takes longer to get up now is all. I learned how to fall a long time ago so I dont get hurt too bad. I started falling more often a couple years ago when my legs started to stiffen up from old age, cant lift my feet as high as I used to thus trip over more stuff in the bush now. It helps to do some leg stretches for about 15 minutes in the morning while getting dressed.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

Every time I have a doctors appointment they ask me if I fell. I am pushing 80 and falling has not been a problem yet.
I got myself a seniors' GPS. Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination, it tells me why I wanted to go there.

I have fallen 3 times in the past year. There is a difference between tripping and falling. You have a little more control in your landing. When you have a sudden dizzy spell and begin to fall, everything is spinning so quickly, you have no control. All 3 times I have fallen; it was on concrete. No soft spots in my driveway or patio. MRI's show no brain bleed, but it hurts like heck. I am no longer "getting old"; I have "gotten old".

Vertigo and equilibrium issues for me. Started 70 - 71 yrs old. I started making area changes to my garden areas this year. Mostly grip rails if needed.

Same here, do a lot of stumbling around when I’m out trapping.

Hobbie, your ready to join the club! It happens, and fast, one moment your up, next moment your saying how did I get down here?, lol When your young and you fall, you get up quickly and look around and hope no one noticed...when your old and fall down, you look around to see if there's anyone who can help you up!

You don't need to fear balance near as much , depending on what you do for your body's exercise .
Asians have practiced Tai Chi for centuries , allowing people to have superior balance and overall health well into very old age.
It is the most beautiful and effective exercise format ever devised. It is used as health and healing for all internal organs, blood circulation, muscle control and memory. There are many forms and levels of this training, and many thousands of people of all ages enjoy it.
Every move I make , in the simplest of mundane actions, are enhanced and improved in feeling how your body moves , as you do the everyday things. Even how you walk and bend over.
I think in most towns and cities there are training programs that people enjoy. Or online.
I only wish I had the time to learn so many of the forms of Tai Chi offered . You can choose any of them to apply to any age.
It is the most beautiful slow motion martial art based lifestyle ever invented for body health .

I haven't fallen in awhile. Probably 2018 and it was because I went too fast for the crutches I was using.
My wife has MS. She falls quite often. She has neuropathy in her feet and partially up her legs. So she can't feel when her foot drags or gets stuck on something. Somethings she'll think she's gotten her foot high enough to get over the threshold, but in reality it hasn't even left the ground. Part of her problem is she likes to look around while walking and doesn't watch where her feet are going. I will say she falls quite gracefully.
PF, I'm not sure what neurologist you go to for possible MS, but they don't do spinal taps much anymore. It's diagnosed with MRI's. My wife gets one a year to check for changes in the lesions.
