Here is a list of traps that are prohibited in MASS. This probably has a lot to do with the lack of trapping coyotes.

Prohibited traps
Steel-jaw foothold traps, padded jaw traps, body-gripping (Conibear) traps, snares, deadfalls, colony traps (traps designed to take more than one mammal at a time), and any traps other than those specified above are prohibited. Such traps may not be set, tended, used, or possessed in the field.

Guess that pretty much covers it, eh?

CRD's are about all that's left, if they're legal?

Hate to see some young kid get bit up or killed for the upper crusts decisions.

I would say no on CRD's also. No traps at all is what it sounds like to me.

Cages only in MA. Unless you can get a special permit for a coni for a nuisance animal like beaver. I think even the beaver guys like Don LaFontaine uses Comstocks and Hancocks.
Just one of the reasons I don't work in MA, which is only 12 miles away.
When they passed this law in all their wisdom, they had to go back and amend it to exclude mouse and rat traps, which would not be legal as bodygrippers. Still can't use the rat traps for flyers, or a colony trap. I can't imagine using a couple dozen cages in an attic for a large colony of flyers.
To my knowledge, CRD are not legal.

CRD = Cable Restraint Device, Like a snare, only it relaxes when the strain is removed from it, no choking.
