problem with no sealed bids is the last buyer knows what everyone is offering and gives $ 1 more/skin
there was not much talk of guys on the lines so 2000+ is up from say 2022 where 1400 came in and the average was 58$ can = 40 usd then

Bruno and Jason were offering $72 cash on Marten. Bruno also offered me $250 for a nice lynx and $450 for a XXL Wolverine.

2699 marten sold at $70.73 average at the Thompson Fur Tables.

Further market trend information for marten/ sable from the Ruspushnina sale in January 2025 shows prices headed the right direction at least!! wink

January 2025 - 30,247 sable offered. 76% sold. Average $122

September 2024- 11,150 sable offered. 65% sold. Average $94

May 2024- 68,000 sable offered. 80% sold. Average $89

February 2024- 68,000 sable offered. 60% sold. Average $96

The other auction house, Sojuzpushnina is scheduled to hold its first sale at the end of February- early March.

30% increase from one sale to the next is good news for guys lucky enough to have Marten. Let's hope North American Marten follow suit!!

I believe Thompson Fur Tables is CAD, and Ruspushnina results are USD.
So Thompson would have been roughly $50 USD at the time (Dec '24).
Traditionally, I think a fair amount of the Thompson Tables fur ended up at the Canadian auctions (NAFA and FHA) both from buyers at the sale shipping to the auctions on speculation, and consignment agents from the auctions attending the sale taking fur in for the auction. So I would assume that is probably still the case on some of these marten, with a lot of them probably ending up being sold through FHA on these upcoming auctions, hence the prices being well below current marten values, since the buyers need to turn a profit too......
The Russian sable auctions are the trend I would look at...... wink
Sojuzpushnina is starting to sell here at the beginning of March, and with current politics, we should have an up to date market trend.....???
