Has anybody designed a setter to release non target in dog proof traps with 3'or 4'length of reach

Ketch All Pole and hands. Curious what you’d catch in a DP that you’d release?

A lot of times, small coon and non targets can be guided away with one foot and the trap spring can be depressed with the other foot. Obviously wearing boots. Catch pole works well also.

There are times you don't really want to get up close.
As you get older you don't react as fast as you use to

If you are in a area with a lot of raccoon even taking small ones is benefiting the ground birds or even agriculture. Here we can donate our fur to the state trappers association that we don't want. The fur gets tanned and sold at sporting functions around the state. Its a win win.

Leggers trapper helper is great for releasing coon. Put fork over trapped leg, use boot to shield hands. Release coon. Not recommended for use on bobcat.

You should be able to build a cheap reliable catch pole that you can use to hold down the animal you want to release, then you can turn the trap with your foot until the spring side is up and step down on the spring to release the animal.
https://trapperman.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/1692844/catch_pole - you can see my catch pole build there. Very easy and it's still working perfectly after all these years.

Jet sled or lick tub over the animal with the foot in the trap sticking out? Or a piece of plywood with a cut out and some handles?

Ok I have used the tub method several times to release Bob cats I have used the catch pole to release raccoons , fox and other animals.
In using dog proofs I have occasionally around barns caught not target animals I have released as needed never had an injured one.
Just thinking something built like a pixstick like used for picking up trash but on a heavier build would nice to just grab the trap and release.
