Another reason to stay away from larger populated places, especially ones that have a lot of tv media access AND also crowded places at important times of the year.

Another sad thing is some of these killers will be, in the end, trained with our tax money. "An enemy of my enemy is my friend" is played out in nasty places such as the Middle East over and over again. As I've said in the "basement" several times, we (the U.S.) don't have to be there, in the end, there is no real national security interest in it for us, especially with "drill, baby, drill" coming.

And if the global oil prices goes wild because of some crazies in the ME doing crazy stuff, the POTUS and Congress can declare a national emergency where we keep our crude oil prices the same as it was before the crazies did whatever AND we don't respond to the global price change as a private commodity for private companies to make windfall prices on if craziness happens.We treat oil and NG at that time as strategic national assets and control our own densities and Canada can join us as part of a North American block doing the same thing (I don't trust the Mexicans enough to let them in our bloc unless they play by our rules). The USA and Canada have enough oil and NG to run our own economies at decent consumer prices.

The only reason why the U.S. tax payers have spent trillions of USDs in the Middle East (including Afghanistan here but they really aren't ME per say) and we have lost thousands of military killed and maimed is the reason above and the other reason that most here can figure out that sits on the eastern end of the Med. Enough said.

When you live in a society of reasonable Peace, one does not learn to deal with people like this, this is not our country's fault, though it is the governments fault for not being public about how panic and disturbances are made

That being said our government is pretty lax when it comes to any kind of information being made public in handling abstract minded people.

the bigger issue is how will you know they are a terrorist , the guy who ran down a Christmas market in Germany with a car killing 2 and injuring a lot more was a Dr who had been practicing medicine in Germany for almost 20 years.

I expect you will find the protocol will be if they want to surrender they will be told to raise their shirt and show no explosive device while staring down 12 cops with ARs at a distance of about 10-20 yards.
