yes we do have both. as is the casewith a lot of places there used to be many more. river is always changing. and its really filling up with silt

Trying to learn to ti a net.Know a good source to learn it from?

Welcome from a little north of you. Pool 10, PDC WI. I used to run hoop nets and setlines with my Dad near Bagley WI. Much of my younger years were spent on the river. It certainly has changed a lot. You can't get into many of the areas anymore with the silting in. I'm kind of ashamed to admit it but I haven't been on the river in my own boat in 4 years and I live right by it.

gotta be info on you tube. other than that a local fellow to learn from. it sure doesnt happen over night. be patient when learning it takes awhile

sure like that area around pdc. i go there 2-3 times a year to deliver nets to customers. i like going to effigy mounds while there. i have hunted relics since forever and that place is pretty cool. camped at wyalusing last year. very nice. just enjoy that area.

Net Guy are you with Nichols net and twine? I remember them and Memphis net and twine were the 2 places my Dad used to buy supplies from and I was wondering that with you being from Illinois.]

This is a nice area, no doubt about that and I'm lucky to live here. There's a lot of outdoor things to do with the Mississippi and Wisconsin rivers. 2 state parks, Wyalusing in WI and Pikes Peak in Iowa. Pikes Peak is free entry BTW. Sometimes when you live in an area you don't always think of the different things there is to do within a short drive.

Nelson Dewy park just north of Cassville on 11 as well , good place to stay when Wyalusing is full

Forgot about Nelson Dewey GCP. There you just proved my point about not thinking about things right next door. I'm 53 and been to Nelson Dewey once and have lived within 25 miles of it most of my life. When I lived in Bagley I toured Wyalusing a lot. When my wife and I drove through Wyalusing last year on a couple of weekends in the summer there was plenty of open spots. It surprised us because it used to be full or near full most weekends before. Wyalusing also done some major upgrades to restroom facilities and showers in the last few years. They're the nicest I've seen in any state park I've been to.

Welcome Net Man. Been around nets all my life, my father ran a commercial dragger out of OC, MD for Martin fish co. I live about 20 miles south of ocean city, have a small gill net rig. Bunker in the spring, followed by striped bass ( rockfish ) in May, then pick at spot/trout/croaker throughout the summer. Farm full time but spend a lot of time on the water. Hang my own gill nets, find enjoyment in doing so.

no i dont work for a net co. this is a one man army! really like pikes peak also. stayed there several times. the buckskinners rondy in pdc is another i like

another thing on my to-do list. go see some of the civil war sites out east and of course eat sea food till i bust.
