How long do you typically see a fisher come back through an area? Have fresh sign 5 days ago where I put a set in its tracks and had another set in a different location worked and refused 3 days ago. They normally come back to a set location that they know of?

I have seen one single animal visit the same location within 9 - 11 days. When I could track and trace their route in the snow. Followed the same exact route. I could have caught that one in a trail cage trap set going under a specfic log along a small brook without any bait.

Interesting. It's an anxious waiting game. We have a little spell of warmer weather in the 40s with rain for 4ish days coming up. I'm hoping that doesn't impede their movement any.

If you have a good bait you will catch him in a day or two-5 at the most.
I like at least a half a beaver carcass, that will keep them in the area until all the bait is gone.
Normally once they go for the big bait they will investigate your set(box) which should be about 20 feet away from the big bait.I never set at the big bait itself.
At a big bait I will gang set at least two traps (boxes)and a few snares since fox and cats will come to the big bait.
Sometimes fisher will not get into the trap for several days until he is done with the big bait, other times he will go after the smaller bait in the box right away, especially if it is very cold.Like marten Fisher like to hole up with a bone when it is cold so will be attracted to a fist size chunk of beaver in the box that they can take away and hole up with.
Make sure your half a beaver is wired down good or a big fisher will try to drag that away. Then you will have to re bait and you wont see the fisher back for a while.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

If they are sitting on a moose or a deer carcass they might be gone for awhile.

Will their movement alow down a lot with temps in the 40s? I have heard in the psst guys using apples or sweets in their fisher boxes. Is this something worthwhile?

Depends on a lot of things food source, around here if you don't have a bait station or a carcass 10 to 14 day loops are pretty common.Good luck...

Ive only been targeting PA fisher for 3 years now. My area has a pretty good population. When we have snow for the season, ive seen fresh tracks 3 or 4 nights in a row. Cant tell how many were repeaters. Had a pair this seemingly running together that came through on consecutive nights.

Hard to say.You could be right on top of a females home range with that many nights in a row.Could also be some juvenile fisher running togather. Also could be a deer carcass nearby keeping the fisher right in the area.
