Wondering if instead of Fish food pellets if anyone has tried COB coated with canned clam and or sardine juice for baiting their DP's?

Would probably work but I'd set the trap up so the first reach in catches the coon as he'll probably not tet to reach in again.

Corn Oats Barley
Know it makes great deer bait, especially "wet COB"

Youd defintely have better luck pouring light maple syrup over that than fish juice. Coon love sweet feed which is basically that stuff plus molasses more or less. Good luck pouring molasses without dilution this time of year though.

Wet cereal grain will clump and sour quickly here....then mold.

Deer won't touch it amd it'll clog up that DP. Keep it dry as possible and add something sweet to it like KoolAid powder.

Corn, oats and barley or most other grains will certainly catch coons if the mice or squirrels don't clean them out first.

I prefer to offer them something sweet.

Why not use a marshmellow speared on the trigger and one sitting on top for attention ?
