My wife and I are thinking of taking a week long trip to savannah Georgia in february. Does anyone have any insight to the area of things we should see or places to eat etc.? Just started planning this and figured trapperman is the best place to ask about the area with like minded individuals.

Try the Fish Dock (formerly known as Pelican Point restaurant) for some great seafood. It's a few miles south of Savannah. Shrimp boats dock right outside the windows.

Visit Harris Neck NWR. There is a paved road that circles the refuge. Area is managed for wading birds but it's full of deer and a few feral hogs. Great views of the maritime forests, marshes and saltwater river and creeks. Area used to be a WW2-era military base.

Be careful in downtown/riverfront Savannah area due to crime.

Wormsloe state park historical site , you will recognize the drive way from "run Forest run!"
actually a lot of cool history of the forming of the Georgia Colony.

there was a good good southern lunch counter but I don't recall the name of it , my aunt and uncle live in Savanah so they knew of it.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Our Viet Nam vets took a trip 3 years ago and Savannah was one stop. Lots to see. We took a couple of tours. A ton of history and much of it even pre Revolutionary War and pre Civil War. Nice harbor as well. Lots of great places to eat but don't have any places to recommend.
