Should maybe start asking people a somewhat cryptic trapping related question. Something they can't Google an answer for
There's a balance to be made. That would have kept me out and anyone new to trapping or trying to learn. I know very little about trapping.
Even requiring a pic with the license keep me out

(all I'm doing is adc of nuisance animals on my own land, which doesn't require a license in Kansas.)
I'm just here to learn a little and do better on the trouble critters I've got to deal with.
I'm a member of a gun club that has a similar dilemma. The club owns a private shooting range on 80 acres, funded by the gun shows the club puts on. The club is mostly a bunch of old retired guys. Their complaints alternate between
1. they're all old guys dying off, so they need to get more young guys involved.
2. people who just join for access to the shooting range, so they need to make the joining process harder (its already a 1 year process requiring extensive participation).
Anything that helps one of those complaints will hurt the other.
For that club and this site, the choice is either a small/shrinking group that keeps the riff raff out, or a more open group with plenty of people including some you don't want. Or somewhere in between. There's not a perfect answer, but understanding the trade-offs can help make the best of it.
I'm not trying to complain or compaign for any particular policy on this site. Its a nice place with great info, and I appreciate the knowledge that's shared here. The site admins have a challenge trying to manage the situation and I wish them the best in doing that. Just sharing my perspective because I see this as a common trade off for several groups.
