The Rat Wagon made a stop 40 miles from my place this morning. Took two trucks to get all the green skint frozen coons too him. Can safely say you can barely get 200 flat frozen hides in a chevy crew cab bed. My buddy had to haul the other 57 in his truck. Prices were not great but about what I figured our country coon are worth. Thrue out 16 smaller coon that I shouldn’t have skinned and the other 241 brought 3.00$ average straight through.

$3 for big semi-heavy prime coons?

If someone can tell me where I can get more for north central Missouri coons green skinned, let me know. Been through my rolodex of phone numbers and 5.00$ tops is the best I could find. Don’t seem to be a market at all for the 183 possums that got caught also. Hanging on to the 11 skunks that bit the dirt on this safari.
Got enough money out of them to cover gas, buy a 12 pack of Natty Light, and another sack of cat food for the next safari. Like is good.

Thanks Trapper. Wish we had better coon here but we don’t. No comparison to Iowa, Wisconsin, Minnesota coon. Bad part about it, the work is still the same what ever grade of coon You got where ever you live. I ain’t no spring chicken anymore at 70 years old. Could have caught at least half again as many if I had gotten down the steep bank creeks and ditches. I knew my old knees would not stand for that before they blew out. Kept all the DPS on flat ground and close to my ride. Hek I almost forgot how fun coon trapping was. Haven’t been after them for about 5 years because of depressed prices. Thinking about it, some times it ain’t about the prices. Some times it’s about adding up how much time you got left to do the things you enjoy. Hek I’m gonna head down to dollar general and pick me up a couple more bags of cat food, mini marshmallows, and vanilla extract. Give em a go for round 2.

At least you're not dumb enough to finish them, we're actually putting ours up. We will have less than 2 dozen before the rat wagon gets here in a couple weeks though.
