I’ve been looking at the getting some more victor 1.5s or bridger 1.65 but I found a place over here selling duke 1.75s for 3/4 of the price of a victor 1.75.
I have heard that the dukes won’t hold up to use like the others.
All these things will have to withstand will be red fox.
Is it worth the saving in price or should I just fork over the extra dough?
I have never used duke traps before so I thought I should ask around before buying.

Well in my experience duke footholds do not hold up like the others and they don’t feel well made at all. The pans will get bent in half my coons and I’ve never had that happen on any other trap. If you want to try one go for it and see how it holds up for you but me and my friends played with em a bit and they didn’t hold up very well.

So I have some old Duke DPs. They're really strong in fact one of mine got drove over by tactor and fully-loaded grain cart multiple times and still works just fine. But I have 4 new Duke 2-coiled dogless OS Square Jaw size #2 traps and the levers always bend to the side. So I'd say old Dukes are great, new ones aren't. Just my opinion. And TrapperE, how old were those you had?

Brand new ones, the dps are great and the conibears are too but the footholds suck imo

Yeah, I think its worth the $$$ to buy better ones... cause the new Dukes are terrible.
