That hits hard now the boys are now doing it on their own. Honestly I have zero interest in hunting by myself and will likely quit all together if I'm not hunting with my kids.

I am hunting alone 99 % of the time.
Trapping alone 100% of the time
Fishing alone at least 75%of the time.

I don't mind it, I get along good with myself.
But I still miss having my dad and grandfather to enjoy it with

For some, it’s the only relaxing “me” time they can get. Same with trapping.

I'm busy and hunting alone and about 15 min I'm thinking about all the things I need to or could be getting done. I know I'm unlikely to shoot anything I typically let them all walk. so there is little point for me.

I enjoy being out just have so much to do and get done with limited time. BUT when I'm out with the kids I'm spending time with the kids and can sit back and completely enjoy every minute.

Some of yall seem to be missing the point of this post.

But, if you ain't got kids that you brought up hunting that are now grown...you wouldn't understand.

I have brought up kids that hunt and are now grown and live their own lives. One in Virginia. The other in North Carolina.I would never give up hunting just because my kids are not hunting with me.I hunt and trap 99% of the time by myself.

My son is 40. We brought him up as a hunter, fisherman, and trapper and he was with me almost every outing. I started him in the duckboat at 3 years old. Our relationship was golden. When he was in his teens there were a lot of things to distract him, but we still had more times afield together than most. There was a few years that I worried he had strayed from the outdoor life, and I had lost my buddy, but he always kept his toes in the water. I was starting to fade as well.

Then his two boys showed up and the old excitement is renewed. I see the same look of excitement in their eyes as I saw in his at a very young age. Hunting with the three of them makes me feel young again and the thrill of the hunt is rekindled. There were honestly times that I thought and worried that he had strayed too far from the field and marsh, but I have learned that the spark and spirit had never left him and actually grew stronger, and it is alive in his sons. Bumpa (Grandpa) has three hunting buddies to spend time with. Life is truly good.

I hunt alone 99 % of the time. Pack it out alone hunt alone is the way I like it. I hunt maybe a day with my son every year and sometimes we never get to hunt for the year.

I have made 3 and 4 times in when I pack out on my back. I love every minute of it and is the whole experience of a big game hunt or any hunt for that matter.

Give me a fish, I will eat for a day. Teach me to fish, I will eat for a lifetime

All but one of my boys are grown, but we all still hunt together from time to time. If I’m not there for the kill, I’m there for the recovery and my boys are there for mine. Now it’s not every deer, but the big ones that mean a lot we’re together for.
As far as hunting by myself, well that’s my relax time. I don’t think about work, life, or anything. I’m just listening to nature and learning by watching. I enjoy my time and our time equally.
Luckily I still have CJ who’s 10 and Ellie Jane who’s 3, so I’ll be sharing time for many years yet.

Just listen to the song...if you've got kids that you raised hunting.

If not....well....then enjoy your hunt alone.

Never hunted with my father or grandfather. One of my older brothers took me deer hunting (mostly sit here I'll be back). I started grouse hunting on my own 40 years ago and have been doing it alone ever since, I can count on one hand how many times I have had someone else walk with me in the woods.
