Practice is the answer and a good knife

I put up one last week that measured 44 inches to the base of the tail, but it had a ton of tick bites so it is not nearly as nice as yours. I also had a 41 inch female I did. That is the longest female I ever boarded.

I'm guessing that 44" coon was 30 + #s
That's a pig for sure.

Practise like jalstat said. Don’t be afraid to try different knives and techniques. You’ll cut some fur in the process, but you gotta break a few eggs to make an omelette. Pics can be deceiving too, flesh something clean then take a pic from different angles, some will look like crap.

What a beast of a coon!

Nice action!! It would be great if you got a 20 spot for it but maybe I'm just hoping. Best of luk when you go to sell it.

Barely 30 lbs. on the 44 inch male. Built with huge shoulders and head so that is what helped make hime so much longer.

What a hog!!

How you like wire for coons? I’m using boards I’ve made and never used wire before, seems like I can get wire ones pretty cheap used so I’m wondering.
