It’s a split. Widened a bit more than FHA dimensions. No wedge, tails pinned to a board that Mel gave me with the split. Last ones all came off like nothing. Best thing I did was turn the paws this morning after drying over night, sure saved the thumbs!

Used large for the front legs. The boards Mel gave me for the tail work good, super soft bass wood I guess.

It looks like the Santa to all the trappers paid you a very nice visit I always enjoyed checking my line on Christmas morning With the symbolizing of the day and many people getting up later It is a very quiet time on the line And it is time to reflect on the meaning of Christmas And some times I made a special catch that was better than I expected on my best days I usually caught a few mink every year but the most I ever had in a season was 5 However one Christmas morning I caught a nice male in a blind set at a location the farmer crossed a stream with his equipment About 70 yards down steam was an old muskrat hole It was a place that had a few rats but not many This year due it showing sign of rats in the aera I placed a conibear in that hole The water was deep there and I had to use some old fashion methods to fasten the trap Well I had nice mink a the tractor crossing I made ,my way down stream to the deep hole muskrat set The water was deep here and it was straight and flat So I was a bit off in the distance but it looked like I had a mink His long body floating on the water made it took more than 2 feet long I am not sure right now but I Think I had a fox or coon that day also Santa trapping Claus paid me a welcome visit that year And a few other times I was blessed with a surprise critter on Christmas day

I was going to do a video of me pointing to and old needleless tamarack in a swamp "You see that tree there Rusty? That's what Christmas is aaallll about"......lol.
Once I'm done my call shift Jan 10th I'll be back relocating stuff. Buddy did a quick check yesterday and says there's wolf tracks everywhere again. And he missed 2 friggin snares. Might have to do a night check and get someone to cover for a few hours. With this warm weather, it's gotta be done, make time and possibly very little sleep. The life of a trapper eh?....lol
