The stick on the left had been chewed down and I didn’t replace it with a new one.The one on the right was not in the ground enough to make it solid. Failure to get those feet moving is a problem with this set.

Where is the trap in relation to the stick?

I normally have a trap on each side, for here that is north and south.

I have seen you post similar sets before

Do you get some hind foot catches with the fox standing on hinds to get at the top of the stick?

Always enjoy the videos of animals working sets, teaches a lot

I do. A couple things I notice is when they are on the hind legs, their body weight is divided by two instead of four and when they fall onto their front legs, they “spring” or push off to get back up almost immediately upon hitting the ground. I have experienced zero toe catches with this set……when they are caught that is. lol

Must be nice trapping in sand, dirt is like concrete here.

Another fail. For the record, when I started with this set I used two traps. I should have continued to do so.

Please note for whatever reason video taken with this camera is always sped up when uploaded to YT. Give it a few seconds and it will play, but quickly. lol

I never tried that set, always used horse manure pile or an ant hill.

I would keep my first two fox( reds) in cages for urine until game laws changed .
Used to be you could keep them during open season.
I some times wonder if it was lure dealers that helped get that law passed.
Had gallons of urine fresh all season.

Gland lure.

If using a paste, I just dip the tip of the stick in it. A liquid l, I just put a couple drops on the tip.
