bgfur3065 OP trapper B Joined: Jan 2013 West Texas	Caught this Coon this morning in a 220. Guard hairs around leg were falling out,upon getting it out of trap I could pull fur out. What would cause this?

If it was from rot I doubt it would have started on the outside of the leg and the skin would likely be discoloured. Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

danvee trapper D Joined: Mar 2010 wyoming southeast	Coons dont spoil fast and when they do its in the belly first. Health issue but the skin seems white and not discolored like a skin issue could have been bumped by a car see if there is bruising after you skin it.
